Every artist or group needs a big break, and singer/songwriter J’Da Prynce is hoping to get his big break later this year. With the help of his Royal family, friends, and fans, J’Da has successfully advanced through four rounds of the Opening Act Competition sponsored by Audacy. J’Da Prynce has spent decades honing his craft, after discovering his love for music at age six when he began singing in the church choir. J’Da began writing songs at age 13, and by middle school, he organized his first band. Throughout his collegiate years, J’Da performed in the University gospel choir, formed several bands, and would often be seen performing at campus talent shows and other music events. 

In 2008, J’Da’s released his first full-length album, Open: The Release Ten Years in The Making, which is a testament to his relentless pursuit of his dreams and his personal mantra, “Never Give Up.”  In 2012, J’Da’s soulful sound, and captivating stage and screen performances caught the attention of El-Live Productions. Following a highly competitive audition, J’Da would spend the next three years touring as the lead singer for Xpress Band and Heat; performing nightly in Asian cities such as Beijing, Singapore, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, Abu Dhabi,  and Bangkok, where for two consecutive years, they received the Award for Best Live Entertainment Venue (2014, 2015),  awarded by Bangkok’s Best Dining Magazine. In 2022, J’Da released his mesmerizing debut single “Nowhere.” Not only has J’Da Prynce been igniting stages with his electrifying performances, but he’s also been lending his remarkable skills to awe-inspiring corporate bands like 8 Past Midnight and 7 Till Sunrise. 

Today, J’Da Prynce is ready for the Big Stage and the Opening Act Competition could get him there.  This year, the winner of the Opening Act Competition will receive the opportunity of a lifetime and open for a star-studded lineup at the iconic Prudential Center arena which seats 18,000, during the We Can Survive benefit concert.

Jeremy J. Johnson is an American performing artist and author of the book Intimacy from His View: What Black Men Have to Say about Intimacy. Jeremy has entertained thousands as a multi-genre performing artist on nightclub stages, music festivals, and concerts in the U.S. and internationally. He also landed acting roles in the Atlanta musical presentation of Little Shop of Horrors in 2019, and the film Blood Done Sign My Name in 2010. Performing under the stage moniker J’Da Prynce, Jeremy landed a gig with El-live Productions as the lead vocalist for the International Band, Heat, which toured popular nightspot from Singapore to Beijing to “Bangkok from 2012 through 2015. Upon returning to the U.S., Jeremy relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, and resumed his work as a youth educator, while developing plans for his second music project, Heart Vs. Head, for American and new Asian fans. Jeremy has been exploring ideas about intimacy in his music for many decades.
